Baptism of Our Lord Sunday
We will have an installation service for our new Coordinators, Assistant Coordinators, Committee chairs and other church leaders.
We will celebrate communion (this is a change from our usual celebration on the first Sunday of the month).
Text: Isaiah 43.1-7
Summary: Do not fear, for God formed you, God redeemed you, God calls you by God’s name and will be with you through the waters and fire.Sermon title: “Lord of the Waters”
Image: A cruise liner. It brings us through the water in comfort and supplies all our needs while we are aboard.
Point:We can go and do God’s work (bringing all to God) without fear of anything that might happen. God loves us and we are precious to the Lord.Action:We can act in comfort and in joy.
Grace:God is with us.
Reflection: Water is life, but water can kill. God brought the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt through the water, but those same waters drown Pharaoh’s army. God promises to be with us through any waters that may swell around us.
Do we truly believe this? Are we prepared to live fearless lives? What do you think?

Thank you for the blog. Gives us slow learners a chance to catch up.

Love the blog, now we can get our questions ready to ask during the sermon . . . or decide if we want to hear it at all. Just kidding . . . of course we want to hear it.

Well, I won't promise that image won't change between the first post and actually writing the sermon, but it still is a good image.

Thanks for the opportunity to read the sermon notes. I love the visual of the cruise liner.
